Our Story
The Real Art of Eight Limbs
Muay Thai Institute Australia (MTIA) is Sydney's premier destination for authentic, accredited Muay Thai training — rooted in genuine Thai tradition, not imitation.
Founded by Antonio Favuzzi, known by his ring name Kru Taipan, MTIA brings over 40 years of combined martial arts experience directly from Thailand's official accreditation bodies. Antonio holds instructor and examiner qualifications from Thailand's Ministry of Education and the World Muay Thai Council — the only body recognised by the Thai government.
Since establishing in NSW in 1997, MTIA has produced 26 NSW State Champions and 3 World Muay Thai Council title holders. Our curriculum spans classical Muay Thai, the ancient art of Muay Boran, and the Royal Thai weapon art of Krabi Krabong.
